Hutchison Property Group have received planning permission for Farrells' scheme at the site of Convoys Wharf in Deptford. The former major dockyard site is a 16.6 hectare brownfield site which has closed of the 500 metres of River Thames walkway since its industrial days.
The development may now progress and will include 3,500 new homes, nearly 550,000 square feet of hotel, retail, leisure and cultural facilities, 165,000 square feet of workspace, plus a new primary school. In addition the infrastructure to the area will be developed with a new Thames Clipper jetty (https://www.thamesclippers.com/) and improved bus routes.
Architects will now be appointed to progress Phase 1 for plots 08, 15 and 22, whilst further archaeological investigations will be undertaken with the Museum of London.
The professional team includes DP9 (Planning), Farrells (Masterplan Architect), Glenn Howells Architects (Architect), Aecom (Structures/Civils/MEP), Cundall (Energy/ Sustainability) and Gardiner & Theobald (Cost Consultant).
