In yet another boost to the industry, Piercy & Co. have been successful in securing planning consent from Westminster City Council for the development of Berger House at 36-38 Berkeley Square in Mayfair for Astrea Asset Management.
Following demolition of the existing building, once completed the new building will provide 85,000 sq ft of office space across nine levels. The ground and lower ground floors will also contain 9,000 sq ft of retail space.
Situated in the Mayfair Conservation Area which extends from Park Lane in the West to Regent Street in the East and from Oxford Street in the North to Piccadilly in the South. The site is in the North West corner of Berkeley Square adjacent to Berkeley Square's park and garden.
The new development will comprise the demolition of the existing nine storey (34.9m) office building and replacement with a nine storey (35.7m) office building with flexible retail and restaurant use at part of the basement and part of the ground floor. The proposed building will have a new rooftop outdoor office amenity space and will include a communal terrace on the 8th floor.
Details on the commencement of demolition and construction have yet to be announced, but we'll keep you updated as the project progresses.
