U and I Group Plc have submitted a planning application to the Royal Borough of Greenwich for a £775m GDV project for 1,500 homes on a 19 acre site formerly home to a large glucose refinery.
Morden Park, a 4 acre riverfront park with views of Canary Wharf and the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site.
Over the years Greenwich Peninsula changed from marshland into an industrial zone, with Morden Wharf having changed from a soap and candle making district, to the manufacturer of submarine cables and more recently used for the production of glucose. Now the plans include the development of 1,500 new homes which includes 500 affordable homes, office and collaboration space, industrial workspace, leisure, retail and community space as well as 6 acres of public realm.
